We made it to Hong Kong

China Bound...

We made it to the Airport in Huntsville around 8 am Sunday morning.
We had to shuffle some stuff around to make all the bags weigh the same.
We got it together and headed to the gates.
Lisa was doing fine until Michele gave her a hug and started crying her head off,
then that made Lisa cry.

Tuesday morning Aug 17 5:10 AM Hong Kong time.
We checked into the hotel in Hong Kong last night about midnight Hong Kong time.

That puts the total travel time just an hour or so over 24 hours. We were delayed getting out of Huntsville by 2 hours. The pilot reported a bird strike on landing and it took 2 hours to do the paperwork. Nothing was done to the plane.

We had a text message from my sister when we arrived in Tokyo. Apparently, my companion for 13 years, Hunter, passed while we were in the air. He will be dearly missed. He had some ear problems that I had been dealing with lately, but I never expected this. This is the only picture I have on my computer.
747 we took from Detroit to Tokyo

The trip was pretty much uneventful. The flight from Detroit to Tokyo was extrememly uncomfortable. COACH SUCKS! I will definately remember that for the return flight. Not too many pictures yet. Hopefully we will get out and exlplore H.K. today. Look for another update soon.

Once we got onto the Hong Kong plane, we noticed that the Detroit plane was right next door. We made a long walk in the Tokyo airport through customs and then right back to were we just were.
We are pretty tired but got about 5 hours sleep. Now we are wide awake and H.K. is still asleep. We will most likely just tour around H.K. today and then do Disneyland tomorrow.

glad you made it...and yes, Coach stinks. But on the return trip you aren't quite as aware of how stinky it is because you have a little one occupying your time. ;)

I found your sites many months ago and so excited for you. I have a niece and newphew from Russia only 24 days apart. They went over for one and came home with two. They are 15 now. I also have a black lab with ear problems that the vet can't figure out. Sorry to hear about hunter. Hope this is not my shadow's problem.
Congratulations.
